About
Brain Island School is a co-educational private school, consisting of Early Year Foundations (Creche & Nursery), Elementary (Year 1-6) and High School (Year 7-12).
The school is open to students of diverse backgrounds and it is without religious, cultural and ethnic bias. The school has in its kitty arrays of technocrats, astute administrators and crops of selfless professionally dedicated staff that cater for the moral and educational needs of the students. The school offers all pupils and students a unique opportunity to navigate, discover and positively harness their potentials. It is a school that enhances self-development.
It is heart-warming to note that the school has been approved to present candidates for Rivers State Basic School Certificate Examinations (BSCE) and the Senior School Certificate Examinations organized by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). These examinations have been conducted in the school with students emerging with flying colours.
The pressing demand from parents made it absolutely necessary for a residential provision to be made for students. This is a monumental landmark in annals of the history of the school as students are comfortably accommodated in self-contained apartments at the premises of the college.
Management has also deemed it imperative to incorporate Cambridge Curriculum in which the British General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and Checkpoint will be administered in the School. The essence is to accommodate students who are interested in English National Curriculum Education regardless of nationality or background. This will invariably afford the children the opportunity to continue their secondary education in the United Kingdom when they leave the country at their Prime. It is also much easier for Cambridge Certified Students to gain admission into a British University and it is what the Brainisland Cambridge Examination is designed to offer. The school is established with the objective of educating the total child through rigorous academic programmes using the Nigeria and British curricula. The School is established with a clear policy of excellence in education.
CORE VALUES
BEYOND BRAINISLAND
For many young adults, the question of which route to pursue after IGCSEs is the biggest decision they have had to make. At Brainisland, our Careers Department work with the pupils in conjunction with their parents, to ensure they have the necessary information to make a carefully informed decision. Questions they ask include:
- Which school should I go to?
- Which country?
- What subjects should I choose?
- Should I do A levels or IB?
At Brainisland, we strive to provide an excellent English curriculum education whilst embracing Nigerian history and culture within a creative and motivating environment. This will help our pupils become lifelong learners who will become global leaders.
BRAINISLAND SCHOOL DESTINATIONS
Due to the fact that we offer a British education, most of our pupils proceed to the UK to continue their education; however, we have pupils studying all over the world. A breakdown of our pupil destination over the past 5 year is as follows:
• UK: 72%
• USA: 11%
• Canada: 9%
• Nigerian: 5%
• France, SA, Chine: 1%
As the A-level schools in Nigeria become more established, they are becoming a popular choice for our students before they proceed to other countries for their degree programme.
Our advice, information and guidance demystify the process, allowing students to play a lead role in defining their steps to adulthood with our support and the support of their parents.
